3 wins in 3 weeks see Devizes Ladies going strong in Wessex Division 1. Devizes travelled to West Wilts this weekend with a strong team.
Devizes had most of the attacking play but as usual at West Wilts could not find the back of the net. Superb attacking runs from Caitlin Maclean, and strong injections into the D from Nicky Wicks and Laura North could not be converted by the forwards.

Eventually perseverance paid off and, after many rebounds, West Wilts saved the ball on the line with a foot prompting a penalty flick. Laura North stepped up confidently in her first game back after running Bournemouth Marathon, and fired the ball into the bottom left hand corner. 1-0 to Devizes.

A second half of more attacking couldn’t increase the scoreline. West Wilts did not give up and a slick long corner routine almost saw them equalise. Devizes held out though and won 1-0 to keep up their winning streak. Devizes Ladies play at home this weekend, before the half term break.
